Sim Racing Wheel Bases

The motor behind your force feedback. Compare direct drive, belt and gear driven bases with live EU and US prices.

Direct drive, belt or gear driven?

Gear and belt driven bases are the most affordable way into force feedback. Direct drive bases mount the wheel straight onto the motor shaft, which gives quicker, more detailed feedback and more torque.

Check the quick release before you buy. Most brands use their own system, so the steering wheel you pick has to match the base or use an adapter. Higher torque bases also need a rigid cockpit rather than a desk clamp.

Belt and gear driven bases start around €300–€500 and suit desk clamps. Entry direct drive bases run €500–€900 at roughly 8–10 Nm, mid-range bases reach €900–€1,500 at 15–21 Nm, and high-end bases exceed €2,000 at 25 Nm or more, at which point a rigid cockpit stops being optional.
